Embracing progress while holding on to small-town values makes Farmville a great place to live, work and grow. The Town, in cooperation with the Farmville Development Partnership, sponsors events such as the Christmas Parade, Dogwood Festival, Taste of Farmville, and Hometown Halloween that bring residents together.

With safe and secure neighborhoods, Farmville features a small-town ambiance and a dedicated sense of community.

Our History

Incorporated in 1872, we take great pride in the word ‘farm’ in our town name because of our agrarian roots. Prior to that, the settlement called itself “New Town,” reflecting the settlers’ bold action in taking a section of the empty coastal plain and turning it into some of the most productive farmland in the state of North Carolina.

Welcoming, Small-Town Community

We offer a quality of life unmatched in other small towns. Recently named a finalist in the All America City competition, our vibrant Main Street, excellent schools, effective government, affordable housing, active churches, outstanding library and museum, and a creative Arts Council all combine to make the community a wonderful place to live, work, and prosper.

Business & Development

We put a high priority on supporting our local businesses and other companies that invest in our talented workforce and community.
